Why do women take pills so that they only have their period every couple of months?

I see the commercials on tv and I listen to the side effects and they seem much worse than just having your period.

What does your mental stability have to do with physical pain?

Answers:
Some reasons are more than just a desire to not have a period. Problems like ovarian cysts and endometriosis are treated with those types of pills or shots, because the less you have a period, the less those diseases advance.

What is a screening mammogram? Should I have one? Does it hurt?

fruit juices?

You are obviously not a woman if you are asking that question! Only a guy would ask and women take the pill so that they don't have to go through a regular monthly cycle and can avoid the event for a month or so! It does have some side effects but for someone not interested in having children anymore then they are worth it for many women.

you see, it has to do with holding back the ovum or whatever

Good women's vitamin?

Those are pretty much the same side effects as with the other forms of birth control out there. And if I only have to endure my period 4 times a year.. that's wonderful! I have been on Seasonalle for about a year now and have experienced no side effects. I love it.

Taking pills so that you only have your period every couple months has the same side effects of the Birth Control Pill and the Birth Control Patch. And that's all it is. not taking the break for your period.. you just start your new pack instead of going onto the fake pills and getting you period. I do this. I love it. Think of how much a pain in the butt having your period is. cramps, headaches, possiblities of "accidents", having to go to work or school with it, having to run to the bathroom every couple hours to change a tampon, and just the overall feeling of "blah". I choose this option to go through this as little as I can. I've talked to my doctor about this and she says its completely fine to do it as long as the bc pills I'm taking are the white ones, and as long as I don't do it more then 3 months at a time. So I get my period every 3 months. Plus, I don't have the 6 day gap where I can't have sex.

Its all a plus to me!
