I've gained and lost 5 lbs and never had any problems with it messing up my cycle. Maybe you should take a pregnancy test. If you are under a lot of stress I know that can affect your period too.
I don't think so. But you do get water weight gain with your period.
No, gaining 5lbs is not going to affect your period. Most women gain about that much before their period, anyway. If your period is only 4 days late, then you're not likely to experience any symptoms whatsoever. Besides, periods don't come on a schedule for many women. If there's a strong possibility that you're pregnant (had unprotected sex, or are trying to conceive), then see a doctor to get a pregnancy test done to make sure.
Gaining weight should have nothing to do with your period. Many woman gain two or three pounds just before their periods start.

If you are having sex, especially unprotected sex, then of course you could be pregnant. I never gained that early, but every woman is, again, different. You can buy an over the counter pregnancy test that will give you the results in minutes.
yes , you may suffer from PCOS.
avoid it.
You can gain weight without being pregnant and you can be pregnant without gaining weight during the time the first period is supposedly due. If you're concerned with being pregnant buy a kit from the drugstore that will tell you if you are pregnant.
A minimal weight gain of 5 pounds will not affect your period. And just because you are 4 days late don't panic, Stress can be a factor in late periods. So if you have indured some stress I wouldn't fret yet.
lol...no! it means you are healthy! congrats! :-)
