I haven't had a period for 9 months and recently my nipples have been really tender. What could it be?

Question:
I know I can't be pregnant because you can't get pregnant without having a period but I have never experienced nipple tenderness before and I would like to know some cause of this problem.

Answers:
Congratulations! You're going to have a baby!

You can still get pregnant even though you don't have regular periods. It's all in the timing..when the egg is released and when you have sex.

You sound pregnant to me. Go see a doctor.

You're either pregnant or you're going to have a period in the next week or so. Go see your doctor. Yes you can get pregnant without a period. Take a pregnancy test. Why aren't you having a period? Never started? Post pregnancy? It is possible you are about to start your period. My boobs (and nipples) get REALLY sore the few days before I start. But definitely take a pregnancy test, just in case.

Nine months? And you haven't seen a doctor?

You should get to a doctor ASAP. You may not be pregnant, but there could be something else seriously wrong.

If you're on birth control, it will also cause tenderness. But nine months without a period, when you're not pregnant, is not normal.

You are either pregnant or you will get your period very soon. I think that you should go to the doctor just t make sure that nothing is wrong.
