Low progesterone?

Question:
What would cause a women's progesterone levels to be really low? What would cause this besides polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)?

Answers:
progesterone level can be low for a number of reasons, it is one of the hormones that the body produces in decreasing levels as we age. The testosterone level can affect it, since it is relatively high. Testosterone can reduce the level of progesterone you produce. Remember in women it is a balance of several hormones that is needed, and if one is elevated it causes an imbalance.
At least you have had it measured and can now do something about it.

Other Answers:
it might depend from the time when you take it, you progesteron level might be different before, during and after menstruation,
as far as i remember.
and in fact there might be a lot of reasons so to find out you would have to ask your doctor and she/he would do appropiate tests to find out, or will be able to find out just by asking you few questions about your life style.
seek a gynecologist
