Tampon help?
Question:
I don't use them, I'm just curious.
My sister does and I am wondering if it is unhealthy.
Answers:
Tampons are unhealthy because they prevent vaginal cleaning functions, dry out the vaginal walls causing splitting, give bacteria a pores environment to multiply upon, and in the case of commercial tampons they also introduce chemicals into the vagina.
Applicators themselves are not unhealthy, just unnecessary and an added problem to the environmental impact of tampons – 12,000 tampons per women in her lifetime, commercial tampons only use 30% of trees harvested, don't use organic cotton, use unnecessary chemical treatment that pollutes and manufacturing methods use extra energy.
It isnt unhealthy, the applicator is merely a tool to insert the tampon.
