what is wrong with being a tonboy?

Nothing at all!!

Ok.. so it makes it a little harder to find a boyfriend, but other than that nothing. And that's not even so much of a problem because you probably hang out with more guys and thus know more about guys than most girls.

Growing up my parents owned a small trucking company. I spent a lot of time in the garage on the weekends helping and learning. I've been a tomboy for as long as I can remember (though not the athletic kind). I 'picked up' my first boyfriend helping him diagnose a problem with his Blazer. I do a lot of my own mechanic work, help split fire wood, do yard work, etc. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. I like to go off-roading and fishing and hiking.. It's like the "handle with care" sign that most girls have has been completely removed from me.

As for my relationship with guys, It's interesting. My best friends are all guys. We trade relationship advice and swap stories like anyone else. A lot of conversations with guys that I had in highschool were a little odd, guys in my classes in high school came to me for advice on their cars. You get a lot more insight into how guys are when you're treated like one of them.

When it comes to dating I've become one of the more versatile women that I know. I'll try almost anything once. I've gone with boyfriends to livestock auctions and car shows before. I've had some problems with boyfriends who belittled my knowledge in what are usually considered guys' areas of expertise, but I didn't tolerate that for very long. I've been with a wonderful guy for a year now and he seems to be just fine with how I am. He even goes as far as teaching me to shoot handguns, helping me hone my fishing skills, and taking me 4-wheeling in his jeep.

The secret is in knowing when you have to act like a lady. I'll get all dolled up if I have to. When my boyfriend and I go out I make sure I look like someone who he'd be proud to be seen in public with, but when I'm at home, whether or not he's there, I'm in t-shirts and jeans.

There's nothing wrong with being any specific way if you can accept yourself.
