Metformin is used to treat women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It alters hormones (increases some, decreases some) to increase the liklihood of ovulation. Used with diet and exercise and/or other drugs such as Clomid it is very effective. I don't know of any other conditions that use Metformin/Glucophage as a treatment for infertility. But I do know that if you have PCOS that it is an effective treatment for infertility.though not likely effective all on it's own.
