Well Hello! I'm having the same problem as of yesterday for the first time in my life! I'm 35. My bathroom looked like a war-zone! I've been talking to my OB/GYN for the last 24 hours about this, and in fact, just got off the phone. First thing, when was your last Pap? If it's been awhile, that's step one. If you've done that recently, then you probably still need to follow-up. My OB's nurse just offered me a hormone that can regulate some of this. (I'm going to watch the next few months before making that decision.) Thay also asked me to go take a pregnancy test, as they are concerend about a possible miscarriage and need for D&C. I mentioned that I am still a bit young, but asked if it could be related to early menopause. They said it is possible but unlikely at our age. Their parting advice to me was that if a pregnancy test comes up positive, or if it continues next month, they want me to come in and run some more tests. Oh yes, and they ordered a CBC blood test to check. Among other things, it can also tell approximately where you are in your journey toward menopause. Sorry I can't give you a definitive answer, but it seems from my own experience that there isn't one.

If you are 33, then you should know to go to a doctor.
maybe talk to your obgyn about the pill...it helps them not be as heavy and much less cramping. good luck!
It could possibly be perimenoupause. I have been havng some similar problems, only I'm having mine twice a month. I am 35 and I have researched menopause as that was my first concern. I have yet to see a doctor though, b/c they are having computer issues and can't schedule an appt. My suggestion is to schedule a visit to the gynecologist- that's what I am going to do. GOOD LUCK- it's a pain in the butt.
Get that checked out by a doctor. Make sure it is not Endometriosis.
As you get older the linning in the uturas gets thicker therefore it requires more contraction to clean out during you period. But you should see your doctor. When you bleed that much your iron level goes down.

You should see your OBGYN. You could have endometriosis or some other complication that needs to be treated. Or, if the doc doesn't find anything wrong, she/he can prescribe birth control or other meds to help reduce your cramps and blood flow.
