One more UTI question...pain?
Question:
The pain feels like I was doing crunches and side crunches and now my muscles ache. Belly, pelvis area, sides, and lower back.
Answers:
Hi. I am a RN and I deal with a lot of these types of problems in my line of work. Often pain will be experienced for a day or two. Your doc is looking to find the extent of the infection... whether bladder or kidney etc. Drink plenty of water not only to flush out the med but is good for your bladder too. Apple juice is great or cranberry juice becuase of the type of acid that goes through. If it does not resolve in the next day you may wish to call your doc.

Since you were just there, you can probably call the doctor's office and ask a nurse if this pain is significant, without going in for another visit. She'll probably be able to tell you if you just need to wait for the medicine to kick in, or whether it's serious and you need a different type of treatment now. But don't ignore it.
Call the doctor. Your bladder infection might be moving upwards in your urinary tract, to include your ureters and kidneys. This could be very serious.
Maybe you are going to get your period soon, that happens to me when I am going to get mine. Or maybe he made your organs sore when he pushed on them.
let the medicine take its course if it gets worse call the doctor in 2 days and ask if this is normal....
go to walgreens....ask the pharmacist over there...
i had UTI ayear ago..my doctor said that i could also get an over the counter drug if needed later on....sorry u r in pain:(:(
Give it a day... if it gets worse go to the Doc. Also when I had a UTI I took cranberry pills and that worked wonderful.
Your doctor has made a diagnosis of UTI that's why he has prescribed the antibiotic for you.
considering it's friday, i think it's best that u call ur doctor now. because if it's getting worse, he might not be available over the weekend to help u. let him know about ur situation...maybe he can just call in a prescription to the pharmacy for u. he may not need to see u, since he saw u yesterday. just talk to him about the pain.
I would give it a few days with meds. I am prone to getting UTI's myself. If the meds don't help, go back to the doc. And you can also get something for the pain OTC. Go to the pharmacy and ask about it, I believe it is called Cystex. It will change the color of your urine, so don't worry. But it will help with pain and discomfort.
I would call your doc. A.S.A.P. & ask to talk to the advice nurse to rule out any worse conditions. It would be difficult to diagnose otherwise. Did he request any test done? i.e. peeing in a cup, blood-work?
Call the doctor and tell him you have pain. He should call you in a pain reliever. If the pain and UTI have not improved in a few days then you are on the wrong medication for the 'bug' that's in your urinary tract. In a few days you should feel better. Do you have fever? If so, let the doctor know immediately. I mean 100 degrees or greater.
