how do you prevent UTI caused by sex?

Question:
it's gone away with mediction before but always comes back

Answers:
Urinate after sex, every time you have sex. Immediately after. I'm very prone to UTI's and this has all but cured me of sex related UTI's. All drinking water with baking soda in it is going to do is neutralize your stomach acid. A woman's urethra is only about 1" long. It's very easy for bacteria to get into your bladder then cause a bladder &/or kidney infection. Drink alot of just plain water so you urinate more frequently to flush your bladder of any infection causing bacteria. You should also be practicing much cleaner sex, no sex in the shower, swimming pool, etc. Dirty fingers, dirty organs, dirty areas of your body from not maintaining hygeine, are all great ways to get a UTI.

Other Answers:
First, make a point of urinating immediately after sex to flush things away. Second, alka seltzer, two tablets in six ounces of water the next day.
Has worked for me for years.
Many times this is caused because your partner also has a UTI, but does not show any symptoms. This is probably where the recurring infection is coming from. Tell your partner to go to the doctor to be tested for a UTI and to be treated if infected. This should solve the problem. Also, I would advise against drinking water with baking soda in it. Try a cranberry based juice. I hate cranberry juice, but I found the cran-apple bearable.
always urinate & wash up well immediately after intercourse. And as silly as it may seem, only wipe from front to back whenever u use the bathroom....oh & wear cotton underwear. UTI's hurt! :(
Urinate before AND after sex.
Wipe correctly when going to the bathroom (front to back).
Drink lots of fluids, meaning water and cranberry juice.
first you should have a proper hygiene for yourself and also to your partner.before and after you have sex you should wash it with a safeguard soap as my doctor said.or some feminine wash,if your already married,or have a child already.and if you always have an intercourse to your boyfriend.then you should take medicine continuously as my experienced of taking medicine there are times that i forgot to take it on time and on the right day.that's why when i have a check up again its still have a painful but not as much as last time.so i started taking medicine in the right time and day every time.and my doctor said while having UTI you should never have sex because you will not totally heal.and your boyfriend should have a checked up and take medicine too.so it will not currently2x back!my doctor said it is naturally to have that if we are younger yet because most of the younger one they are having a relationship even they dont know how to take care of thereself as what happen to me.its only a typical disease that is not only sex is the reason its also on the hygiene.the water you use for washing vagina.using tissue for wiping vagina.or using strong soap.that can cause infection also.....
