well i dont know from experience but my mom is 5 months pregnant and she has had pains in her vagina and down her inner thigh. her pains are from the baby kicking a nerve and you will just have a few shooting pains every once in a while. but just to be safe. i would talk to my doctor

Usually having pain/cramps in the vagina during pregnancy can occured after intercourse. Is this when the cramps occured? How about bleeding? If there is bleeding, she should go and see her obstetrician ASAP.

In some cases it is (especially if it is her first child). The cramping might actually be her pelvic bone spreading a little to permit the growth of the child as well the body is making it's first preparations for child birth. BUT, you should have a doctor check it out especially if there is any type of bleeding that is occurring.

if it's constant pain or with spotting i would talk to the doctor asap. but pregnancy causes all kinds of aches and pains. the pelvis spreading or the baby is on a nerve. all your joints loosen during pregnancy to make way for the baby and that can cause some discomfort too.

you know the mother to be should be getting her advice on this topic from her ob/gyn and not people floating around in cybyerspace. each woman and each pregnancy is different. while cramping and uterine growing pains do come with the territory, if there is concern it should be checked by her m.d.

It could be Braxton Hicks contractions ( not sure of spelling). They are completely normal. They do not signify labor starting. As corny as it may sound they are like test driving a car before you buy it. Meaning they are contractions but not the "real thing".I spent both of my pregnancies on bed rest. I dealt with my fair share of early labor signs. Some serious others not. I would be sure to let my doc. know what is going on. That way an ultrasound can be done just to be cautious.
