I got mine when I was 9, but that is early. My mom got hers when she was 11 and my sister got hers when she was 12. They weren't athletic though. If you are very athletic, you might not get your period until around 15 or 16. Usually, you get your period around the time your mom and sisters got theirs.
By the way, your height and breasts don't have much play into when you get your period.

It can come anytime between 8 and 18. It is not that much fun so I wouldn't want it to come too early. Mine started when I was 10.

You should ask your mom and sisters if you have them. A lot of it is based on your genetics. It also depends on your body weight. If you have almost no fat on your body it might take longer for you to get your period. I got mine in sixth grade when i was 12 and my mom got hers around the same age. I had friends who were really small and thin and they didnt get their periods until they were 13/14 Also, you might mean 4'11" because 5'11" is gigantic.

Check out this site (or others) that may answer questions as to when you should begin to worry that something may be wrong. I don't think you should worry yet. You may be just a late bloomer. Trust us, enjoy NOT having them for a bit yet.

I was 13, but you really shouldn't worry too much about it. Some girls don't get it til 18, it is unlikely you will have to wait that long though. Try to relax and enjoy the fact that you haven't had to deal with it yet.

the earliness or lateness of a girls period depends on alot of different factors such as diet, metabolism, the age your mom or sisters got theirs, height, weight, if your a smoker....it all depends on things like these...i got mine at 11 (i'm 21 now)...i also found out that sometimes pre-teen stress can also delay a period for some girls.
