Colposcopy Scare? I am freaking out! Advice?

Question:
I had this procedure last Thurs(6 days ago). The exam and biopsies seemed normal as anyone else’s experience (certainly no fun). So, I was fine Fri,Sat, then on Sun I had terrible cramps, I don’t usually get these. They lasted 2-3 hrs and went away but enough to make a tough girl cry! Sun went on and after dinner all the sudden I felt I had passed something. This was so quick, not like the spotting I had so I RUN to the bathroom and what I found was not good. It was like a sac (covered in grayish membrane) and something a huge clot inside. It was 5in long. So I started to research the symptoms & seems like miscarriage! I immediately called Dr Mon; I ask did you do a pregnancy test? She said “NO You TOLD me you were NOT pregnant!” She proceeds to say it was probably nothing and if must come in she would make appt for Tues. I am not sure anyone else ever had this happen? Is it normal? I still hurt in the lower back, and generally feel sluggish, and spotting, is it all in my head?

Answers:
i hope you save the tissue that was passed-it can be evaluated for pregnancy tissue and then you will know if you were or were not pregnant, i am assuming this happened in the last few days, if i were you i would take a home pregnancy test today and if it is positive, high tail it to your doctors for a pregnancy test so it can be documented that you do indeed have the hormone in your circulation. if this was a miscarriage, you should still test positive. however, if this was over a week ago and you are testing negative and dont have the tissue you may never know if you were pregnant. colposcopy can be done on pregnant women-that is just looking at the cervix, however doing biopsies and endocervical curettage on pregnant women is another matter.
No, it's not all in your head! Sounds like you did have a miscarriage and you are cramping because your body is cleaning itself out. I would consult a lawyer and file a claim w/their insurance. In the mean time get a 2nd opinion!!!! Sounds like she doesn't want a lawsuit on her hands!!!
