Why does your OB-GYN leave the room when you get undressed if they are going to look up there anyway?
Question:

Maybe just to make you feel more comfortable when you change into a hospital gown. If they were just standing there it might make people feel rushed, like they are sitting there waiting for you to hurry up and get dressed.
Also, it might not be just to make sure you are comfortable but they might feel uncomfortable just standing there while you get dressed. So they might leave the room to get any supplies needed or whatever, so they aren't just standing there waiting for you. When they are giving you an exam they are doing their job, but watching you get dressed would be uncomfortable for them and maybe you too.
No kidding, then they leave you there for 20 minutes. I'd rather they just stayed, it takes you two seconds to undress then just get the exam over with.
