is it okay to skip the 4 inactive pills on yaz birth control to delay my period a month?

Question: my period is coming at a really inconvenient time this month and i've heard that some women actually skip the whole week of inactive pills for birth control (yaz only has 4 inactive) to delay their period. will this work and is it safe?

Answers:
YES- my doctor told me I could as Long as when you skip the inactive pills you immediately start the next pack - do not let any days go by without a pill or you will either get a surprise period, or a surprise pregnancy - just throw the old pack away when you finish the active pills and immediately start the next pack - I am doing it this month too (this is how the new packs of pills that let you only have 4 periods a year work)
