Part time job and customer service @ Walgreens???

Question:
WWYD???

I work there 1 day a week. They have been fine w/ that! I work at the cosmetics counter opposite 2 other women. Meaning they work during the weekdays and Saturdays and I work Sundays.

Numerous times they have asked me what happened on Sunday b/c the sales % for that department is low. Any items from certain aisles (1, 2, 3) that are rung in that dept bring the % up. If I ring people w/o those items all it's doing is getting customers out of the store quicker and not changing that %. Often this happens. That's what I'm there for partly, to get customers rung up and out of the store fairly quickly (who likes waiting in line).

These 2 other women are psycho about getting customers to ring in this dept. One of them told me to stop ringing one day b/c I was "taking away from that % in that dept." I was floored....STOP WORKING while at work????

I was "talked" to about it again why the % was low. I told the woman that I'm not doing headstands to get "certain" customers (w/ specific cosmetics) to ring at that register...I ring up who comes there and if the one's I say there is a register here for you to ring at don't come, I'm not chasing them down. People don't like to be bothered while shopping. I ask if they need help and if they say they are all set I leave them alone. These 2 women are a bit more "pushy" that way.

For 1 day a week would you continue putting up with the stress of this % not being up to their par or leave?

Answers:
Talk with the store manager and ask what is more important, overall customer service or % in the Cosmo dept. Let them know tactfully what you have been told by the other Cosmo ladies and feel out the situation. If you leave they will have to work on Sundays and I highly doubt they will like that a bit. You have a good thing going, not many stores will let you work like you do one day a week. weigh your options. Do you need the money or is it just for fun to get out of the house?
