Has anyone had a hysterectomy (uterus and ovaries removed) and not taken hrt after?

Question:
My doctor is recommending no hrt because of a breast cancer scare. All was removed surgically I had no chemo or radiation.
very small they said it was cells that could have turned to cancer.

Answers:
Radical hyst including cervix @ age 27. No HRT, still. Weight gain and bone pain seems to the most annoying of the post-hyst symptoms, but I also notice subtle things like the texture of my hair has changed, my vision has worsened (I wear glasses anyway), memory sometimes gets shaky and I have zero patience for anything or anyone anymore. I would definitely talk to your doc about plant-based or natural options, rather than the synthetic ones that have such potential risks. I do take calcium but am worried about having gone 10 years now w/out any HRT...do talk to your doc about options, as I wish I had pressed harder to find something else for me. Good luck and be well.

I have had a complete Hystorectomy and do not take this either....
Hello-
Sorry to hear of this.
I had a hysterectomy at age 25. I don't think I'll ever get over it.
I could not go on HRT due to extreme endometriosis. They recommended waiting it out and seeing.
Well, the hot flashes are horrible, I've gained 30 pounds, I've developed osteoporosis, and currently have multiple fractures in my spine becuase of a fall. I am so depressed.
Needless to say, I am only 27. So...my doctor is going to try to give me some Premarin. Hope it helps. I would rather be in pain than to deal with all of these symptoms. Hope it all works out for you!
