Skipping period while using the NuvaRing?

Question:

I'm going to insert a new nuvaring after 3weeks of wearing one so I can skip my next period. Has anyone had problems with this not working and getting the period anyways or with heavy spotting? I used to do it when I was on the pill all the time, but I haven't tried yet with the ring. Or have you found that having sex triggers the period to come? I've experienced more bleeding a day or so after my period has finished because of intercourse. I'm trying to avoid an embarrassing blood on the sheets situation!

I use the nuvaring but i have never tried to skip my period. Normally i do try to put in earlier than the 7 days, but sometime i still get spotting. I think it should be ok because normally i don't get my period until 3 days after i take it out anyway. Give it a try, and let me know if it works! Jessjls7@yahoo.com

I'm not so sure it's good to skip a period. I had a horrible time with the NuvaRing causing bad cramps and pain during intercourse; you should probably take a break every three weeks and have a period.
