Does anyone know about a blood test in late pregnancy that asseses fetal lung development?
Question:
Answers:
i have never heard of this being done with blood and i am an ob/gyn. fetal lung maturity testing is done with amniotic fluid either by amniocentesis (usually) or collecting fluid from the vagina in the case of ruptured membranes (less commonly done)
There is a test called the L/S ratio. They can do it at a hospital that does OB. Talk to your doctor. There could be a newer test.
