What is the best treatment for edometriosis?
Question:
Answers:
becoming pregnant is the best option, but nobody can be pregnant 100% of the time! (LOL)
so, a backup would definitely be the depot-lupron shot. It usually goes for a length of 6 months (1 shot every month)...you won't have a period for the entire 6 months, and I recommend not consuming soy, cuz it causes breakthrough bleeding (3-4 glasses soymilk a day, I was bleeding after 3 days while on this shot)...
the shot usually will put endometriosis in remission where you can use birth control after the 6 month run of depot-lupron. You'll also probably want some sort of narcotic pain reliever as well as a strong anti-inflammatory. Consider keeping up on vitamin supplements as these can help prevent some cramping/pain, and drink a lot of water!
As the previous reponder states, it depends on the person.
Laprascopy can be used to control the pain...have nerves severed or lesions/adhesions removed.
Good pain medicine is helpful in combatting the pain.
a good surgeon is required for removal of endo, but even microscopic endometriosis can cause debillitating pain :(
good luck! and I hope you feel better soon!!!
The answer to this question is a difficult one to answer. Simply because each woman is different. Because some doctors don't diagnose it properly it's hard to know if you have it. As far as treatments for endometriosis, that depends. Birth Control is one of the ways (the most common way) to 'treat' endometriosis. And/or pregnancy *. However, there really is no cure for it.
I myself had to have a laporoscape to determine if I for sure had endometriosis. It was determined I did, and thus removed with a laser. However, when the pain becomes unbearable again, I will have to continue to have laporoscapies performed (in order to remove the tissue. Or be pregnant or go on birth control.
* Because you are pregnant, the tissue that is released into other body parts such as your tubes, vagina, etc...are not release because you are not having a cycle.
