Is having blood inside of your placenta somethiong to worry about?

Question:
My best friend found some blood when she urinated but when she went to the doctors office they told her that it was nothing to worry about, but they didn't know where the blood was coming from. Does anybody know if this is something to really be concerned about?

Answers:
Not if you are pregnant. there is supposed to be blood in the placenta. That is how the baby gets it supply of oxygen and food.
Where the blood is coming from is a concern and it needs to be investigated.

Other Answers:
Evidently she is pregnant! Your placenta is full of blood. It is where the baby gets it's blood supply and nutrients from. If the placenta was bleeding, she could bleed to death. Since it isn't gushing out, then it isn't bleeding. The blood is a normal event and there is nothing to worry about if the Dr. said not to worry. Blood in urine could be from lots of things. Good Luck
