I had exactly the same problem, but stuck with microgynon for about a year until I got really fed up with the tearfulness, weird moods etc. Now I have Implanon fitted in my upper arm and feel human again - with one one period since October! Bonus.
There are loads of options, try a few until you get the right one.

Could be. There are many different versions of the pill. Talk to your doctor about adjusting which one you are on. I was on micrgynon for a couple of years was very depressed, irrational as well around period time (also unusual for me) have stopped taking any pill now and feel much better.just pains as usual and PMT.
ask if u can go on the depo as i'm on it with no period and mood swings.
