I'm not sure if this is a yeast infection or not (for girls and doctors only)?

Question:
I am in my teens and I'm not sure how to talk to my mother about this. I have this thick white discharge and its not clumpy and sometimes my vangina icthes. Its doesn't hurts or burn. The discharge goes away for awhile but then its comes back. Can someone please tell me if this is a yeast infection or not. I have been looking online about yeast infections but I'm not sure if my symptoms add up.

Answers:
Check the discharge, is there an odor? Are you sexually active? It really doesn't matter so much those answers, you should always go to the doctor for the first yeast infection. This way, they'll tell you what to look for. I don't know if you're old enough (dunno if there's an age restriction on it like aspirin), but if it is a yeast infection, ask for Diflucan. It's a one dose pill that gets rid of yeast infections without the messy cream (and YES, they are messy). Eat yogurt too. :) Make sure the yogurt contains active live cultures of acidophilus - this keeps the healthy bacteria in your body in check. PS - Antibiotics are a very common cause of yeast infections because they kill ALL the bacteria, they don't distinguish between the good and the bad.

Other Answers:
Yeast is a part of our normal "flora" in small amounts and under certain circumstances can get out of control and cause an infection. Antibiotics can cause problems with yeast infections because the antibiotics kill the normal bacteria that helps keep the yeast under control. Yeast infections are very common. There are some very good over the counter treatments now that you can get at any drug store. They work very well. It is always a good idea to talk to your doctor about unusual symptoms to make sure that you do not have something more serious.
From the symptoms you are having it sound to me like a yeast infection. i get them all the time so I understand what you going through. Just go to the drug store and get some over the counter med and it will help.Eat a lot of yogurt.
You need to go to a doctor because it could be BV(Bacterial Vaginosis), which need an antibiotic to get rid of it.
That is normal, every girl goes through that, and even if it was a yeast infection it would go away in time.
