The Pill and Periods....?

Question:
I was just wondering if anybody could tell me if it is safe to commence and take the pill without having a period before hand.
I started taking the pill 2 months ago, and before than hadnt had a period for around 5 months. Since starting the pill, i have had a bleed, with the seven day gap your supposed to have.
any advise, would be grateful!

Answers:
You're sure you aren't pregnant?

If you're not pregnant it's perfectly fine to take. It will regulate your periods (which you seem to be having problems with).

If you're pregnant you can seriously harm the baby. I suggest testing before starting the pill.

Talk to your dr. He might want to run some tests on you to find the cause of the late period. He might also induce a period by putting you on progesterone for 10 days.

Good Luck!

Other Answers:
Continue taking your pills as scheduled, regardless of when you have your period. If you think you are pregnant, see your doctor.
generally people have a Sunday start with their pills so unless the doc had told you otherwise I would go ahead and start on Sunday. I was on the Depo shot and hadn't had a period for 4 years and after the doc prescribe pills I started that Sunday.
go to a doctor. you might have been pregnant.
Pill cause so many problem for young women and women in general. You should consider a insert such as simicide which you buy over the counter. and insert in the vigina and it dissolves and that is the end of that. you could start to have a lot of other problems from using the pill.
