Answers:
You should probably get a more concerned doctor. Could be heart problems, kidney problems, being over weight, or several other things. If she isn't on her feet a lot, it could actually be from sitting too much. Exercise could help that. But really, you need to get more info from your doctor.

What are some things I can do for my daughter who is grieving a miscarriage and in another country far from me

I have seen this happen to my mom in the summer months - she usually soaks her feet in ice water when they're really bad, and finds that exercising helps. She also lays with her feet up (she'll lay on the couch and put her feet on the armrest, so it is above the rest of her body/

Thrush..information please?

If you are just looking to make her feel better, have her take a bath, submerge the swollen part or go swimming. This worked wonders when I was pregnant. It is not a permanent fix but it does help considerably. Get her a good foot bath for the living room. If the docs not worried I wouldn't worry. Make sure she is hydrated. If you, or she, is really concerned. Go to ER or clinic for a second opinion.

Any ideas on how to soothe a tummy ache?

keep her feet propped up... water pills may take a few weeks to work... has she been checked for other problems? diabetes? is her feet the only thing swelling? not legs, hands or arm or face?
if its just her feet she may need to walk more...it could be poor circulation.... try support hose (get at walgreens or cvs) if they are seriously swelling she needs to be seen by a doc... or she needs to go back to hers and tell him water pills arent working...
