should i get a doctor to look at me? or is this more normal than i think?

Answers:
First of all, you need to make sure you count the days that you have been taking your birth control pills and check the colors and differences in the medication and see if they correspond correctly. If you only missed one pill and corrected as you should have, then your cycle should not be off at all. However, if you have made it a habit of skipping them and have run into problems that way, then the bleeding at the wrong time could be a bigger issue.

If the blood is dark red, then you need to consider what point in your cycle you are experiencing, as it is often darker and heavier in the middle of your menstrual cycle. You probably did not miscarry.

I would strongly encourage you to go see a doctor immediately. If you have any questions, you should not hesitate to go and get checked. Though not incredibly likely, your chance of pregnancy does increase every time you miss a dose.

Please ask yourself these questions first, and call a doctor. Good luck, and I hope this is nothing serious.

If you're taking birth control pills, nasty dark discharge during what's supposed to be your period is completely normal.
the fact that the color is darker than ndormal is probably because you were late. does not sound like a miscarriage as the color would be that of red blood period.
You can't have a miscarriage that soon. It's probably some complication from your birth control pills.
if you had a misscarriage you know it.you would be begging someone to take you to the emergency room.very painful.how old are you?
Birth control pills do weird things to your blood. It can turn really dark and that is normal. However, you need to see your doctor just to make sure you did not miscarry.
