Switching from one BC pill to another...feeling blah and hormonal. Is this normal?
Question:
Anyway, my emotions are crap right now. I'm weepy, depressed, anxious, sad...all like I'm having PMS.
Is this a common effect of adjusting to the new pill or could this be something else? Could this be an indication that this pill doesn't work for me?
Thanks!
Answers:
Yes, this is completely normal, especially because your new pill may have a different dosage or makeup of hormones. If you feel like your depression or anxiety is getting worse, if it starts to effect your social or occupational functioning, please seek immediate help. In the meantime, go for a walk or get some physical activity. It could help with the moods and ease the transition. It may be too early to tell if the pill isn't working for you-if the symptoms do not subside by the time you finish the pack, see your dr. for a new rx, as that should be enough time for your body to adjust.
