Question:
Answers:
I had a fibroid during my last pregnancy and caused me to bleed, but then it disappeared. Pregnancy continued just fine.
Yes. Once you become pregnant, you will need to get them checked often by your OB. This is usually done via ultrasound. It is best to have an OB/GYN who has a portable unit in their office.
I had 7 fibroids with my last child. I was seen every other week for the first 5 months of pregnancy, as many of them were growing at such a high rate that I was put on bed rest until they calmed back down. What happens in fibroids with pregnancy, is that if they are attached to your uterus, your baby will have to fight them to get nourishment, as the fibroids will steal the nourishment from the placenta and grow like wildfire. In the later months of pregnancy, they do slow down. Your OB will check them regularly, and in some cases, if a fibroid "goes bad" - they can be removed.
Now, pregnant with twins - I have no fibroid problems. Yes, I do believe in the miracles of God.
Always consult your OB, as everybody's body is different. I don't know of anyone with fibroids, that couldn't get pregnant. I would depend more on where they are in your body. You can also find out if you can have some removed, without affecting your fertility - if possible.
