Help for severe menstrual cramps?

Question:
I get severe menstrual cramps for the first three days of every period. I'm a 15-year-old, and I get them in my lower abdomen/back, and have had them for several years. I use heat pads and Aleve, and take calcium and magnesium, but that only helps so much. Does anyone have any other suggestions, holistic medicine, a painkiller that works better, etc?

Answers:
I love the new Pamprin All Day, it is maximum strength and can last up to 12 hours. For the first dose I take two, which it recommends. It relieves my cramps, muscle aches, headaches and the backaches, also the bloating and crankiness, it also says that you can take it if you have a toothache. I bought mine at Wal-mart and I think that it was about 4 or 5 dollars.

Other Answers:
use an icy hot patch in your lower abdomen it works for me it's better at night before you go to bed

Have you talked to a gyny or family doctor about this? My daughter had to go on the pill at the age of 14 with the same symptoms as you. Not only did her period length shorten but it took away the severe cramps she was getting. Ok girl, Only advice i have for U is drink tea. Green tea. I do not know what the heck it does but it works fro me. Then after that take a LONG bath in the tub with warm water. Then take menstation pill.
