Will taking Accutane in college be difficult?

Question:
I will be 4 hours away from home. If I were to go on Accutane, I don't know how I'd be able to make it to my doctor's once a month. I don't know of any doctors in the area yet who could monitor my blood, etc. Freshman aren't allowed to have cars so I wouldn't be able to drive myself anywhere. I hear of many people who go on the medicine at this age, so how do they do it?? Please answer with personal experiences if possible.

Answers:
I took Accutane for 8 months, but I wasn't in college. You really do need to have your blood monitored to make sure your dose is right. Your nose will bleed, and if you are like me, some of your hair will fall out, too. And for God sakes, don't get pregnant. Your baby will be born without a head. Honest truth. I actually ended up in the ER with heart palpitations because the dose was too high. If you can't be monitored, don't take it. I've since discovered Pro-Activ and it works better than the Accutane did without all the side effects.

Other Answers:
Yea, the montly blood tests and doc visits are a pain. At your school you might be able to get a car with proof of your 'exception.' Just be honest with them and they should allow you to have a car.
Buy the accutane online if you think you need it. Millions of kids have gotten by without it, maybe you could too.

Can't have a car, that's hogwash. Park it off campus. Want it and can't pay for it, get a job.

Sooner or later you're going to have to learn to control your own life.
