If you have the hpv virus..can u get the vaccine? Or will it not work?

Question:
Just wondering...

Answers:
My OB/GYN stated that the current HPV vaccines available were only made for people 26 years or younger. I was very surprised when he said that. I'm over 26 so I don't qualify. The ones available right now would prevent you from getting 2 high risk types and another one for 2 low risk types. He added that even if you already have HPV it is advisable to get the vaccine. Further tests are being done to see how effective it is, but for right now, this vaccine seems to be effective on people who have been administered with the vaccine. He told me that once the new improved vaccines are available in my age category he would make sure that I get it. In this case we'll just wait and see.

It's highly recommended that you get your regular PAP test and screeening even if you already completed the searies of vaccine since for right now it only prevents 70% of HPV's that cauce cervical cancer.
Vaccine is useless once you are sick.
