I want to have sex ut I want to be sure the pill is effective. I am still goin to use a condom though.

You need to be on birth control for a full three months before using it as your only method.for those first three, though, use something else as well, i.e. a condom. And be sure you take that birth control pill within the same two hour time period every night (or morning). And one more thing.certain antibiotics will render birth control MUCH less effective. So be careful and use other stuff then, too (or abstain until you're off the antibiotic).
