Why are pains more so when a woman is on the rag?

Question:
I have a bad knee and a bad back. I know that most women get back pain when they are on the rag because of the cramping, and this happens to me too, but my knee pain seems to intensify and my knee gives out more when I'm on the rag. Is there a reason for this? I don't see how my uterus and my left knee are connected. Please explain.

Answers:
It is due to the interaction between estrogen and insulin.

When estrogen fades (pre-period) then insulin can take off, especially if one is hyperinsulinemic), and when insulin overproduces, it causes overproduction of other body chemicals, like the stuff that helps pain transmit, more and better.

Suggestion? Get yourself checked out for hyperinsulinemia (www.mayoclinic.com has some basic info), or wander to www.hufa.org for basic info on blood sugar imbalances.
