If I miscalculated my last period date, could the ultrasound dating also be off?

Question:
Basically, I told the ultrasound nurse that my period ended on a specfic day, when in actuality, my period ended about a week to a week and a half later.
Could this affect the dating of my ultrasound.
It said I was 5 weeks, 6 days, but I believe I am more like 4 weeks, 4-6 days or so.
I understand the LMP versus conception dates, I am just wondering about the accuracy of the ultrasound dating when I offered the incorrect date!

Thanks!

Answers:
Definetly does make a difference. I would advise them asap so that they are aware when they do the scan. The difference between four weeks - five weeks and six weeks onthe ultra sound are amazing.
Having said allthis the nurse should have been calcultaing from when your last period started and not ENDED as stated in your message.

Good luck with your pregnancy
They will most likely do another ultrasound and the further along you are the more accurate it will be in dating your baby. Don't worry. He/she will come when he/she wants to. That is a given. I gave birth four weeks early and she was fine. So, just enjoy the pregnancy because it goes away so fast and you'll forget the time. I saw a man who took a video of his wife in front of the closet on the same day every month. Turned sideways with her shirt up showing her tummy. Then when she delivered he took a video of her standing in that same spot with the baby in her arms. When you fast forward the entire video it is sooooooooo cool to watch your tummy grow, grow, grow, growing and then with music behind it, he pauses and then shows the one with the mother holding the baby. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. What a great way of documenting your pregnancy. Just an idea. God bless you and your new little family.
