depo provera users?

Question:
if they take this product off market, will there be lawsuits for problems women have gotten from this?? would we be compensated for med issues resulting from this med??

Answers:
My daughter was on Depo Provera for over 5 years. Last year when she went for her yearly exam, she was told that she had to go off of it. They have found that leaving women on it for longer than 2 years, puts them at risk for Osteoporosis. She had a bone density test and she does have Osteoporosis of the spine and Osteopenia in her hips. She is only 24. There are class action suits for Depo users. But, when we saw an attorney, we were told that only a large firm could afford to take on a pharmaceutical company and even then there is no assurance that you will get anything. With class action suits, the money is divided among all the other people in the suit, and the attorneys get a large amount of the money. They have to be able to prove that the damage was done by the drug.
i wish! I hemorraged for 9 months while on it and my DR said next shot it should clear. I shouldnt have even been given it due to the family history of depression as depo triggers it! (I had panic attacks) I alsi lost alot of my hair and 5 yrs later its still not back to normal :((
