Abnormal menstruation?

Question:
I have been having problems withmy period recently I never had this problem before. I used to be on birth control pills for couple of years and I stopped taking them about a year ago. Since then I have got my period only 4 times. I have been gone to my doctor and she took blood tests and pregnancy test and informed me that I am a healthy women. However deep inside I still doubt that something is not right. I got my period when I was about 12 years old and I have never missed a period and it was always on time and I used to have heavy bleeding that lasted 7 days. So this is very unusual for me and I can’t get used to it. And the only way I have been getting my periods recently it’s by my doctor who prescribe me pills to endues my period. I am not sure what is going. Does anyone have a thought or advise on this?

Brith control really messes with your body hun.. it may take a few years for it to become regular again.. I have had problems with Normal flow as well, but my problems ran far deeper then yours I fear. However I am not sure how old you are, but most woman have upnormal flows. I had a terriable time with normality as a 12 and up til I got prego.. with first child 7 days it ran and hard hard cor cramping.. then got prego and it went to 3 day flow for 3 years and only getting every two months. and the second child came.. and it went back to 7 days hard cor cramps for the rest of my time I had it.. on a regular basic.. however Inbetwween that time I had a miscarriager which caused a dnc to happen.. this made my uterus colapse.. which in turn I had iregular periods for some time..

Woman with or with out the pill have upnormal flow.. its somewhat natural these days and nothing really to worry about.. You are already doing all you can do about it as far as seeing your doctor and explaining it, I would give it a while remember the pill you were on for a long time and it takes awhile to get out of your system as well.. so keep doing what your doing.. and see if it helps.

I lost my uterus I can't have children anymore and I lost it at the age of 30.. after two wonderful children were born.. I believe it will come back eventually after your body realizes its not on the brith control anymore and that you will have a simi regular period sometime with out the help. of your doctors. in the mean time eat right, excersise, and don't worry so much about it.. good luck.

sometimes this can happen when a woman is on the pill for a long time. your body becomes dependent on the hormones and needs to be stimulated to start producing them on it's own again go to a natural doctor.the birth control pills are what caused this now they are giving you more pills that will cause something else. It's all to make money off you. find a natural doctor and he/she will tell you what you need to do naturally. good luck

The bad news -- short and medium term negative impact after going off the pill is common

The good news - generally, over time your body does adapt and begin to get back on a normal schedule. If you go a long period without menstruating, it is wise to see the Dr and allow her/him to help you start again by inducing a period.
