whats wrong with me??

Question:
sometimes when i stand up really quick after sitting down i (sometimes) feel light headed and lose my vision for about 30seconds to a minute. and i do not have vision problems, i have 20/20 vision. what could be the cause? or does this happen to everyone?

Answers:
It happens to me a lot too. It's a combination of a blood pressure change (probably low blood pressure) and anemia. See a doc and have some blood tests done. You may just have to be more careful about standing up quickly. :)

Other Answers:
you mentioned this happens when you stand up suddenly, it's just a pressure differnence and circulation issue.try standing up slowly.

low blood pressure? Orthostatic Hypotension.

Possible it's blood pressure. You should see a doctor to be sure.

its high blood pressure, please call your doctor cause it can be serious problem.

i get that sometimes to it is probally not vision prob it could be just caused by dehidration or somthing along that line but try drinking water before u decide to get up rly quick or try getting up slower try that ok Hydorstatic blood pressure is slow to respond..is supposed to maintain your blood pressure at a fairly constant level, from resting to active .

Could be vertigo, see a doctor.

Why are you asking us girl? This is serious go to the doctor.

Do you also see white flashes of light? A common problem with these symptoms is just that oxygen isn't getting to your brain fast enough. During the act of standing up, the oxygen went to your muscles, mainly in your legs. You are still taking in the same amount of oxygen as you were while sitting down, so that act deprived your brain of oxygen. This makes you somewhat disoriented.

Next time, try to take a few deep breaths before standing up, then stand up. Or, if you are feeling lightheaded after standing up, take a couple of deep breaths and remain steady.

sometimes when i get up in the morning it happens to me too. I think is no big deal , cuz it happens to most of my friends That happened to me back when Phen/Fen was legal. I wasn't eating any meat and got iron deficient anemia. I took some iron pills and the problem went away after a couple of weeks.

It is because the blood has inertia and tries to stay in the same place as your head moves upward. Then there is not enough blood to supply oxygen to your brain so you get tunnel vision followed by complete vision loss. You could pass out.
