foot pain?

Question:
my right foot has been sore all week and started out of no where. have diabetes in my family and for my mother that's where she noticed she had a black sore on her right foot, went to the doctor and he told her she had diabetes, could it be? hope not but what should i do about the soreness in the mean time until i go ck it out?

Answers:
Diabetes aside, you could have injured your foot somehow: pulled a tendon/ligament. Or there may be an arthritis issue.

However, If diabetes is in your family, you already know you should get your sugarl level checked. There are other signs to look for: being very thirsty, urinating frequently. Is there a visible sore or discoloration on your foot? If it's the entire foot, then consider that circulation may be compromised higher up somewhere on your leg. If there is a sore or discoloration, do not wait to see your doctor. Infection can set in quickly when circulation is not good.

Good Luck. :)
