Have you ever had a camera down your throat?

Question:
If so please explain what its like.

Answers:
i have, had it done once, i was fast asleep when it happened, only woke up with a bit of a sore throat, but that was mainly due to the drugs they give U to knock U out

Other Answers:
Yes I have. (4 times)

I was having problems breathing due to some swelling. I took steroids and anti-inflammatory for a time and had several appointments with an endoscope (I think that's what it was called.)

It wasn't too bad, it was just a bit tricky to get past the part of the throat that has a "gag reflex". A good doctor will instruct you how to avoid this and eventually the scope will be past that point and there would be no problem.

Don't worry about it. Take your time and relax. Breath as told.

P.S. It didn't hurt at all or tickle. It was kind of unusual at first, but once it's positioned, it was no problem.

P.P.S Three times I was awake (throat only) and one time asleep (gastro-intestinal) all within a 4 month period.
no but up my butt i did and it hurt like hell
why should I ?!
no, are you about to have one? would you like some practice?
No, but I've seen it done and been in 'recovery', assisting people after the procedure. Nothing to worry about.
i was put to sleep at and hosp so i dont remeber what it was like. ween i came to in the recovery room my throat was lil sore and mouth was dry. that all i remeber it wasnt bad at all i was only 7 or 8 ween this happen. now i am 23.so hope i help u some nothing to worry about u be fine
Insist on a sedation usually known as versad. Had one 6 years ago and can't really remember a thing. They could have cut me and I am convinced I would not have known.
endotrachiocariogram?

Not nice, but probably necessary. You be anesthetized, and a camera will be maneuvered into your lungs
yes , I did have once...it didn't hurt at all because I asked for a little sedative..also the nurse used a anesthetic spray for my throat.it didn't take long.the worst thing is that you want to swallow but you can't.After it's done your throat may hurt a little. But don't worry it's not a scary thing.and very necessary to be able to use the best cure for the illness.relax...it's not that bad.
I hope you get well soon...if you can stay calm than it will be much easier...good luck...P.S i had it for the same reason as you ddo.the result was that i had gastritis.
been there 3 times. you dont feel a thing cause you are completly out. some get a slightly sore throat after and cough lollies fix that. I didnt feel a thing and was 100% after. dont worry at all.
You are awake when it's done, you throat is numbed and it's a small tube with a light on the end of it, long enough to go down to the stomach and through parts of the intestines. It does not hurt. You will be fine.:)
It's called an endoscopy. My husband had it done to look for ulcers and GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). You will be heavily medicated for the procedure. It is a fantastic procedure because there is no guess work as to what is ailing you. The doc will see everything. Best of luck.
My husband wasn't even aware that he had spoken to the doc after the procedure. Which I found to be rather entertaining.
There is absolutely no reason to be
afraid.
I had one and they give you a drug that really relaxes you, i cant even remember any of it. It will be fine i promise xx
i had one 2 monthsgo just had a spray down my throat first not to bad worst part is from the mouth to it getting down your throat then its ok makes you gag a bit
