what do you think of ?

Question:
the instead monthly cups instead of using a tampon?

i cant get my cup to rest on my bone and stay put

Answers:
They are far better than tampons as they are far safer and more hygienic, as well as more convenient, they are also more environmentally friendly because even though they are still disposable they aren't as wasteful as [commercial] tampon manufacturing, nor do they use the harmful chemicals.

I've been using a Mooncup for around 4 years now, and I would never use a tampon ever again not just because I know the issues but simply because they have nothing on menstrual cups. Bell-shaped menstrual cups are far easier to get into position than softcups (Instead) as they have a better shape and sit further down in your vagina kept into place by your vaginal muscles, where as softcups are kept in position by your pubic bone.

I've tried softcups and had the same problem as you, as a lot of women have, some people can use them and some can't. I keep some spare for sex during my period, but for the most part even after a lot of practice I just cannot trust that softcups will stay in place. It's basically because they are supposed to be a one-size-fits-all product when of course women are different shapes and sizes, thus why we get fitted for diaphragms – incidentally you can also use diaphragms as menstrual cups.

I'd highly recommend you try bell-shaped menstrual cups rather than trying to stick to softcups, they work a whole hell of a lot better, can still be worn safely without leaking for up to 12 hours, the only difference between bell-shaped menstrual cups and softcups is that they are reusable, you also cannot have penetrative sex with bell-shaped menstrual cups.

Wikipedia have am ok entry on menstrual cups that shows the difference between bell-shaped menstrual cups and softcups, here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menstrual_cup - you may also find some help for your problem at the menstrual cup support community here - http://menstrualcups.org

Bell-shaped cups have money back guarantees so you can try them without risk, Divacup give you 12 months, Keeper and Mooncup give you 6 months, I'm not sure about Lunette.
