Do women on the pill still PMS?

Question:
Since you aren't ovulating, does your body still have an increase in hormones that causes bloating, fatigue, mood swings etc....

Answers:
absolutely. my girlfriend is living proof. she also has changes in her breasts and skin which are normally associated with that time of the month.

i think the pill works by giving your body a hormone that makes it think that it is pregnant - and therefore your egg is not released. but around the end of your cycle you take a pill without this hormone and your natural body processes kick in.

also some pills have been linked to depression so may actually make PMS worse. not to sure how strong this case is.

Anyway i am not a Dr or anything so my information may not be 100% accurate but i think its generally OK.
I think that most women do not, because the Pill causes your hormones to be very regular, and it is designed to have as few side effects as possible. In fact, many women get on the Pill to *treat* menstrual symptoms. If you get on it and you don't like the side effects, simply talk to your doc about your other choices (there are lots!) Best of luck.
