Why is my period irregular?

Question: Last month my period was normal this month I have been barely spotting for the past 4 days. What could be causing this? I am not on any birth control and I am sexually active. I don't think I am pregnant. The Dr. diagnosed me with polycystic ovarian syndrome and told me that it would be hard for me to concieve a child because the cysts prevent me from ovulating normally. I don't have any health insurance so going to the doctor is very exspensive and I don't want to go to the emergency room since its not an emergency. I am freaking out though so any advice would be much appreciated.

Hard to conceive but not impossible. So, I would look into that first of all. If that isnt the case my only other suggestion is to find the money and see a doctor, it could be something serious.

Have you tested for pregnancy? Just because your chance of pregnancy is lower because of PCOS doesn't mean you can't conceive at all. Sometimes your period can be delayed or messed up because of stress or other factors.
