Question:
about HPV. i found out that i have the virus, found out in April of this year. the question i have to ask is I was with my ex for 14 1/2 years never had a sign or any symptoms of the virus. got with my new guy in January. went in for my pap in April, never had an abnormal pap smear till this year. does this mean more than likely he gave me the virus, the other thing is he was with his ex for 10 years. she never had anything wrong with her. could it be possible that i got it and she didn't? and if this is possible why wouldn't she have any signs or symptoms of it? I know i can spread it to other people without protection. So why do I feel like I have to be alone the rest of my life????

Answers:
If you were diagnosed then you should be being treated for it. And, no, you will not have to go the rest of your life without a relationship. Current medications make it so that you can lead a normal life. You will just have to fess up with any others. It is not something you keep to yourself.

It is devastating to be told this. You will learn to deal with it. Search and read up on it. There is a lot of information out there on HPV. You are not alone. There are also support groups.

So, how many did he sleep with before or after divorcing his wife? Reckon he could have been a little loose? You need to confront him and he needs to know that he can keep spreading this if he is not treated as well.

I am so glad I am married and happy.

Good Luck!
same thing happened to me, i did research on it, not as bad as it seems. I'd be more concerned about cervical cancer. HPV is the leading cause of it, and their are no symptoms. good luck.
