Answers:
First you should always consult a physician. Call them. However I read on webmd.com that it is normal at 36+ weeks to have this. However if the pain and contractions get worse and closer together call the hospital or go to the ER. No harm in being cautious with you and your baby's health. They will not C-Section you until they are sure there is no other way and the baby has to be delivered. Remember the closer to term your baby stays the better developed it will be! Hope this helps.

As far as work goes I am pretty sure they have a maternity leave. They will not let you go if you have your baby. I am pretty sure there are federal labor laws protecting mothers that give birth!

You could be having Braxten Hicks contractions. Also known as false labor. But if they continue or getting Strong. Go to the doctor right away.

My guess is that it's braxton-hicks contractions. If they are really regular, get closer together, and get stronger, go get checked out. If it's the real thing though I wouldn't be worrying about work. You are giving birth to a child. Some things are more important than work. write down every contracion and if they are 3-6 min apart ( they don't have to be every 3 min. they can be scattered)but 6 in one hour you more likely are going into labor. go to the hospital t get checked.cause you could be so far dialated that it could be to late for a C section.
