Forgotten Tampon?

Question:

I was ending my period, but a day later, I started spotting again, so I put in a tampon. I forgot about it and had sex. I knew something hurt, but it never occurred to me that I would forget about the tampon. I found it a week later. I've been spotting again, but not due to have my period for another two weeks. Help?

Women forget tampons or have sex with tampons in more often than you would think. If you are in pain or concerned about your spotting call your gyn. You might have a little trauma in your vagina which is now causing the spotting.it should clear up in a couple of days. If you get a high temp don't wait, call the dr immediately.

Go see your Gyn Doc. maybe your injured your cervix or vaginal wall.

It's probably up too far in your cervix for you to remove it. See your gyn, since you may have an infection by now.

This is not an uncommon problem. You need to make an appointment with your doctor. A small piece of the tampon could have been forced into the cervix during intercourse and is still there. You will want to be checked for any possible bacterial infection as this type of thing could travel to the fallopian tubes and eventually lead to pelvic inflammatory disease and sterility.

Oh how totally sick! I have heard about having sex with one in, but forgetting about it for a week?!?!?!? You need to get to the Doctor asap, you probably have a nasty infection. Go To the doctor! Forgotten tampons can cause toxic shock syndrome which can lead to infertility or worse death. You could have also done some kind of internal damage with the tampon being rammed inside of you. Go get checked out.
