Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin. You have to be careful about taking fat soluble vitamins since they can accumulate in the liver. Vitamin c is water soluble so u can take more of it. The adult needs about 700 iu of D. Milk provides about half of the value. Moderate sun exposure is good to attain vitamin D from skin. I would stick to a multi vitamin and good healthy nutrition.
