How long does a d and c take?

Question: I'm going to be having a d and c. It is day sugery with general anesthesia. How long will should I expect to be at the hospital? How long will I be knocked out?

Answers:
I had a D&C and it wasn't anything, no pain, I got up walked out and went home, nothing different. It takes about an hour or less, depends what they have to do in there. As soon as you come out of the operating room, they watch you and when you can wiggle your toes, the anesthesia is almost gone and you go home. It's a breeze.

I had a D&C done after I had a miscarraige a few years back, it takes about 1-2 hours I you are making plans that day you should just opt for the 2 hours to be on the safe side....
