is it neccessary to remove your ovaries at a hysteractomy?
Question:
Answers:
It is not necessary for ovaries to be removed during a hysterectomy. In younger woman they are often left in to reduce hormonal change.
Leaving them in will not result in continuing periods; as that is the result of the lining of the womb being washed away (a new lining is prepared each month).
if you still have ovaries when it's over, you haven't had a hysterectomy.
