They can be used to screen for infection, lots of diseases such as diabetes, HIV, hepatitis and also cancers and leukaemias.

They can also be used in genetic testing and to check your body fluids and electrolytes, blood groups etc etc

There are many types of blood tests out there. A CBC shows you if you're aneamic, if you have leukemia/lymphoma, etc. while a CMP shows your chemistries . if you have an electrolyte abnormality that might make us think about your kidneys.
