Which are the side effects of an oral contraceptive?

Question:

Answers:
If the contraceptives r estrogen-based (which they are), apart from nausea and vomiting, there're steroid-related side effects (estrogen is derived from cholesterol, and hence the weight-gain) like glaucoma (pressure within eyes increases, which may reult in blindness), increased chances of getting diabetic, hypertension, heart-related problems, some forms of breast cancers (but this is somewhat controversial)..
But, nowadays, the contraceptive pills have lower amounts of estrogen and fewer such side-effects. There's indeed something known as progesterone-only pill, which does not have estrogen, but is probably less reliable a contraceptive. Do consult with some other source. Take care.

Other Answers:
Weight gain, nausea.
